well, I've cancelled my PAID membership at singles365.

And guess what?

Most of the women who contacted me over the last 6 months have [supposedly] sent me a message coercing me to stay on as a paid member so that we can chat some more! [even though up till now I have been ignored by them!]

I wrote back and said there is always instant messaging [yahooo, icq, msn] + gave my email address + gave moby + gave home phone number too!!

"WITHOUT RESPONSE!!" (so far)?

Sounds very suspicious to me!

Never had so many replies at once saying please don't leave singles 365! But there are so many other contact options available to these women but yet not one has offered to oblige me? [except through '365' that is!].

They seem to be more interested in persuading me to keep paying '365' rather than actually contacting or meeting me? I ask myself are they women seeking relationships/friendships(?) or sales reps. for singles 365?

They don't need '365', they can communicate in so many other ways instead, now that the initial contact has been made/established!!

:?

well, i never ( i say never ) was able able to stay in touch with people "met" through paid websites outside of those channels.
Privacy?
Well, i think some yahoo email account is equally anonymous.
it's all a joke.

...I'm still getting them!

e.g. "even though I have not wrote for 6 months I hope you forgive me and keep in contact through '365'? I'm not ready to write to anyone outside of their own mailing system yet. Please pay to renew your membership and we'll meet very soon!!"

...so why can't she just make an anonymous phone call to my moby if she fears that I might be a loony? She would still be 'safe', I wouldn't know where she is - would I?

Unless as you say: 'she doesn't exist', i.e. a fake profile engineered by '365' themselves to con me out of money?

:x

it's all a misrepresentation & a fraud.
why would anyone care about THAT site (or any other), whether or not you are paying?
Besides, i don't see why anonymity/privacy freaks would go to a junk dating site.
If the ultimate goal is a meeting, then they have to come in the open; if they can't or won't, don't waste your time.

i never used THAT website, but had similar experiences elsewhere (nobody solicited membership renewal, though ).

In some instances, the suit contends, people on the Match payroll even went on sham dates with subscribers as a marketing ploy.

Cancelling your subscription works wonders! Never had so many replies - so quickly!

These people are only willing to talk to me through '365'; they won't write to my email address or phone me? ODD?

Ive got loads of time to talk now! Im really pleased your still up for that proper chat, if you still are that is? Is there anything you would really like to know about me? Just a short message to see whether you were still up for a chat? I was really rude before and never replied. Im soooooooo sorry, and i will try and make it up to you (if i can) am i forgiven? xx

Today is my first day as a full member, so i thought i would make you the first message i have sent! I hope you feel privileged, lol! I hope you havent completely forgotten who i am, it has been a few months since you sent me a message. Anyway i hope you are well? Are you still interested in knowing more about me?Would love to hear back from youJen x

Hi I sent you a message back in January and never followed it up. I went on a few dates with someone i met just a couple of days after joining but things didnt turn out very well. Would you like to chat? I promise i will reply this time. Well thats if you havent been snapped up by now, which i have to say will suprise me if you havent.Hopefully you will reply, but if not i wish you the best of luck.

Hi there, Thanks for the message, been away on holiday so not had a chance to reply until now. How's your week going? Looking forward to Easter weekend? I have a bit longer break being a teacher so lucky me! If only the sun was out. Hope to speak to you soon.Debs x

Hi, this is going to have to be a bit of a short and sweet message, things are quite hectic today. I thought i would get in touch quickly just so you didnt think i had dissappeared for good. Im off to Spain with my friend for the easter break, her family have got a villa out there, it should be nice to get a bit of sun on my skin, im starting to look like casper! Are you doing anything special for the long weekend ahead? Right, im going to have to leave it there but i promise i will reply next week. Have a good one and dont eat too much chocolate! tina x

Ok I'm going to come clean I've been a relationship since we last spoke that didnt go as planned as you might have guessed cause I'm back now! I'm sure this is a long shot but are you still hanging around the site?

hi! its been ages but ive had some family things to deal with, all sorted now but i didnt really get time to be on the net at all. anyway its all out of the way now and i just thought id say hello again and see if youre still around and havent found miss right?! speak soon. lindsay. (ps - if im too late its not a problem)

...why didn't they just phone me instead?? - they had my number!! or even write directly to my own email address rather than leaving a message on '365'

scam - you decide??

Whoever organises that site obviously isn't organised enough to tell their operatives to correspond with each other.
It is so obviously a scam to keep you paying registration fee.

Give lindsay Jens contact details. Give Amie Kellys contact details. and so on

Actually, maybe it is better to follow Hams advice or you may inadvertently give them help in organising their scam better.

it's good to know that someone is on my side too!

I've written to BBC1 - UK. The watchdog (rip off) program regarding the activities of '365'. Maybe I'll get on the show??

I also wrote to Watchdog a while ago (before christmas). I have not had a response from them, though they did run a short story on Nigerian scams.
Hopefully they will get the idea that dating scams are big too.

I urge more people from the UK to write to Watchdog in the hope that they follow the stories.

one final point:

..every month, the day before, after and during subscription renewal (3 days) I always tend to get a lot more replies at the time I'm due to pay them some more money!

Coincidence perhaps?

:?:

Not a coincidence, I'm sure.

While registering with "free" online dating sites, I happened across Amature Match. Sign up, fill out the profile, then hold on to you socks! This site was about about sex, sex and more sex. Not what I was looking for, I ignored it but, left the profile active.

Well, after a few days a couple emails came. Then the next week a couple more. Some actually nice profiles, seemed tame enough and the women were pretty nice looking. Just couldn't read the emails without being an active member. After about 3 weeks, maybe 12 - 15 emails were in my mailbox.

Well hell, I had to check it out. They got my $29.95 and I got on the site for a month. Read the emails, responded to about 1/2 of them and waited. Nothing. A few emails came during the subscription, responded to them and nothing.

When the end of the subscription was near, I cancelled. Within 2 days afterwards, some return responses came and more emails from different users. Hmmmm, OK, I done it again! Another month, another $29.95.

Needless to say, no responses to my return emails. So the month passed and the subscription was cancelled again. Same thing, emails started all over again. That has been some time back and I still get emails from there. They go in the "deleted file" and not thought of again.

You obviously haven't encountered the British Government.
Ignore me. My statement is irrelevant.

You can set up an dating site using white label dating & you get your wife to pretend to be a woman [I got one of the employees sending me messages then reveal herself - if you read the profile it says she works for them anyway]

They just sit round sending fake message to you to get you to join up.
